T Fondaco dei Tedeschi

In the heart of Venice, overlooking the Grand Canal and adjacent to the Rialto Bridge, the T Fondaco dei Tedeschi stands majestically, an ancient palace of the lagoon city, that as a result of a sublime restoration signed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, today stands as a prestigious emporium with 65 designer botiques, mainly made in Italy, that extend along the arcades of the three floors all converging on the central courtyard of the building where you can find a cafe and a restaurant always very crowded. The Fondaco stands on four floors, made of loggias with round arches, with a structure that has maintained its original 16th century character while presenting harmonious finishing touches with an artistic-contemporary imprint: the same environment where in a distant past the merchants of the Serenissima led the negotiations are today eccentric boutiques with luxury products. On the top floor of the building there is a large panoramic terrace, accessible by stairs or by elevator, which entrance is completely free. Since the space and the capacity of the terrace are reduced, access is regulated in groups of up to 80 people and it is therefore necessary to book online on the site www.dfs.com or directly using the tablets available. The view from up there is unique, one of the most enchanting and evocative of Venice, you can see the domes of the Basilica of San Marco, the Grand Canal and the many bell towers that stand out on each side. A breathtaking experience to try!
